By Ben Cutrell

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. (BP)--Ouachita won a thriller in womenís soccer and lost a lopsided menís game against Montevallo Sept. 24.

Joyce Hansen scored on a breakaway with 1.5 seconds left in double overtime to defeat Montevallo, 3-2.

The Falcons had a free kick in Ouachita territory as the clock wound down, and Montevallo pushed forward in search of the game winner. Ouachita cleared the ball from the box, and Hansen tracked it down at midfield with 11 seconds left before dribbling in and beating Falcon goalie Corey Gros.

The Tigers appeared to win the game in the waning seconds of regulation, but a header with three seconds left was disallowed.

Ouachita took the lead on a goal by Rachel Folk. Montevallo responded with a goal on a corner kick, but Folk took the lead back with another goal.

Montevalloís Stacy Balaam tied the game at two in the 63rd minute, and neither side could seize control until Hansenís late strike.

The Montevallo menís team took control early and cruised to the 5-0 victory. Glenn Murphy took the lead on a free kick, and Jonathan Maloney scored a hat trick for the Falcons.

Montevallo out-shot Ouachita, 11-5.
